In this day and age, even cats need their own privacy to cope with the daily stress of the expectation the society puts on them. Since adequate spaces are somewhat lacking in the cat real estate, they resort to taking refuge in various spots around the house; as long as the whiskers passes, “it fits”.
But then the world introduced the cat tree.. it’s a tree (not really), and it provides the same quality as a real tree to a cat (again not really). This object which is typically 48-60 inches tall (ranging in 1 to 1.5 meters) is an MDF base wrapped in scrap broadloom carpet (like the one depicted below) which costs an arm and a leg as if it was made of a rare walnut species. To me, a cat owner, this was not only a gigantic waste of money, but as a designer it was a completely hideous object to be displayed anywhere (well except next to a dumpster).

Well all that has changed!
